So, who runs this place?! Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development & Tourism (FMWBEDT) covers in-region initiatives such as business and investment attraction, tourism, and entrepreneurship and innovation. FMWBEDT has also administered the Wood Buffalo Regional Innovation Network (WBRIN) in FMWB for many years. Through the WBRIN, FMWBEDT created Startup YMM in 2020 to enhance its efforts for local entrepreneurs and innovators.
We support local entrepreneurs in starting or growing their businesses. Providing events, programming, and resources proven to accelerate growth and provide structured to entrepreneurship! Currently, there are over 500 members already growing with us.
We have an incredibly friendly team and our office always has members sharing ideas, quietly working on projects, or inquiry with our staff about resources.

Startup YMM is an initiative of the Wood Buffalo Regional Innovation Network (WBRIN), a group of organizations across the region who are helping entrepreneurs innovate and grow, nurturing a strong entrepreneurial culture in the region.
